 cranks question

my cranks don't have a chainwheel bolt and i took off my chainwheel to see if it was bent and it is a little i put everything back togethor again the way its supposed to go and now my chainwheel slips back and forth. what to do?

get a new one of those bolts you lost

i always put the parts i take off in a pile when i work on my bike

there was no bolt ever just a piece of metal sticking up to go into the chainwheel bolthole and now it slides back and forth on that piece which it never did before

everything's tight and all the spacers and bearings are in the same order as they were before?
