ok i'm kind of new to bmx and i have basic knowledge to do stuff. But i have a problem all i see myself trying is footjams and manuals i can't seem to be able to push myself to try anything harder. I can't seem to get over an element of fear thats there and all my friends try crazy shit but they all used to skateboard so they have gotten over their fears and stuff. Any advice for me because i love to ride and i just want to do tricks.

bunny hops are probably the most basic trick learn them, then take them to curbs, try over a bar or bit of rope or something that you can make higher as you get higher.
if you want to learn park go and pick a quarter pipe learn airs and stuff do jumps just easy stuff

Small tricks lead to big tricks, so just like milkshake said, start small. 1 handers lead to no handers 1 footers lead to no footers which lead to no foot cans which lead to supermans. etc.
