Freecoaster you can roll back without having to pedal backwards.
Cassette hub you have to pedal backwards to roll back.

No. Freecoasters are silent.
If you're thinking of getting a freecoaster, don't.

I'm not trying to hi-jack your thread here. But..
Freecoaster open up a different realm of riding. Now I'm not in that realm yet. But have you seen the tricks that Cory Jarman, Ian Schwartz, Daniel Kuska and Karl Poynter do?

Just because you don't pedal backwards doesn't mean your cheating. In my opinion I think its harder cause its harder to balance. When you pedal backwards on a cassette it helps keep your balance. There is no point riding a freecoaster if you can't ride fakie.

Now unless your very good at being sarcastic I would advise you to actually ride a freecoaster and see how fun it is to ride.... and at the same time, try not to case jumps. Wink

Now back to the thread. Some Freecoasters have crappy bearings in it and in some cases bearings blow out if you use pedal pressure. Also if you could be bothered maintaining it every month by greasing up the clutch and driver thread it would also engage cleanly. For me it takes a good 10 minutes to pull it apart and grease it all up and put it back together.

Ah noooo, they don't pedal foward. Of course they do. Are you dumb?

If you were a smart boy. You would of watched the video I posted. It explains everything about freecoasters. How the clutch works when pedaling foward and when your doing fakies.

Of course you can pedal forward with a freecoaster, Why would people buy freecoasters if you cant pedal forward? why not just run a front hub on the back?
